My goal is to post a song that I love every single day. Maybe more, never less. It might be something brand new or it might be something mad old. I’ll try and give an explanation of some kind if time permits. If there’s a video for the song, I’ll attach the link. I’ll also give album reviews, grades and talk about nonsense. Here’s how this all began in my head…

Besides my family, I love music more than anything in this world. I’m obsessed. I would listen to it 24 hours a day if I could. I can’t live without it, I get withdrawal. Music owns me, it always has. It’s the soundtrack of my life and I love that movie. I realized recently that music somehow trumps the sports teams that I tattooed on my leg for life. And I love those teams more than anything. In addition to music and sports, I’m also down with sharing. The idea is to try and spread some love to your ears.

I’ve been working on 2 giant playlists since I got my first iPod and I absolutely swear by them. They hold every song I’ve ever liked by every band I’ve ever heard. Dead serious. I love all those songs and they love me. As I listen to new stuff, the songs I like get added to the iPod’s on-the-go playlists and I drag em over when I get to a computer and plug in.

One mix is strictly rap and clocks in at 1800 songs. The main mix is for everything besides rap and it’s up over 9500 songs. A few bands crossover to both mixes. After one of my iPods died, I had to rebuild the mixes from a PDF printout and it took like 9 months. And then my Mac died like a week later yes. Lucky I had the playlists on my iPod.

I have at least a 45 minute ride to and from work in Boston so I listen to at least an album a day. Sometimes two, sometimes more. Sometimes it’s strictly bouncing back and forth between WEEI and The Sports Hub.  Sometimes it’s a little back and forth action between the tunes and the sports talk. But I always listen to an album all the way through, no matter what. Every song gets a look. The artist and the album deserve it and you never know when you’re gonna find a jam. And I fuckin love jams.

I just got promoted and I’m living the dream as an editor at NESN. I would take a bullet in each eye for both of my sons and I love sleeping next to the hot blonde that I married. I gave up caffeine and booze from January to June (minus Black Keys March 7th!) and congratulations, you just discovered my latest addiction. Life is the best. Let’s do this.
